How gnarly is this?? Australian pro big-wave surfer, Mark Visser, conquered 30-40 foot waves at Jaws off Maui – all in the cover of darkness! With the help of a specially engineered LED lit buoyancy vest and board, Visser became the first to night surf the infamous break. The Quiksilver In Memory of Eddie Aikau is the world’s longest running and most prestigious big-wave invitational and is the only one sanctioned by the Association of Surfing Professionals. On this day, the best big wave riders pay tribute to Eddie Aikau, a young Hawaiian waterman lost at sea, in 1978.
