Kelly Slater may have already cemented his title of ASP World Champion a month early (and for an unprecedented 10th time) at the Quarterfinals of the Rip Curl Pro Search Puerto Rico, we still have two of surfing’s most coveted titles on the line – the Billabong Pipeline Masters in memory of Andy Irons and the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing. The surf at these two events normally hold some of the biggest and best of the year. That is if conditions let up. With the current flat spell at the Pipeline, today makes for the fourth consecutive lay day. Swells are predicted to return on Wednesday and when they do up first will be defending Billabong Pipe Masters Champion Taj Burrow (AUS), 32, against Matt Wilkinson (AUS), 22,in the opening heat of Round 3.
