Timmy Curran who once wowed us with his aerial and free-surfing abilities as a professional surfer and as one of the best surfers on the World Championship Tour, is now equally impressing us with his foray into the world of music. Curran has now launched his third album, Options, which can be downloaded for free as of May 31, 2011.

Curran’s debut album, Word of Mouth, launched in 2007, and was then re-launched in 2008 with Adeline Records. Word Of Mouth saw strong international success in countries like Japan and Australia, especially because he decided to release the album worldwide for free and built a good, loyal underground following. His track, “Blue Eyes” from this CD also gave him his first major break.

After that album’s success, Curran then toured worldwide for three years as the opening act to artists such as Foo Fighters, Incubus, Switchfoot and Angels & Airwaves, which led to Curran’s sophomore album titled VerseS released last year, March 2010. This album had more of an indie rock vibe vs. the acoustic, surfer-groove style.

Now, Curran has released his latest and third album, Options. According to producer and band mate, Andy Smith, “I think the previous two albums laid the groundwork for Options, but without any pressure or expectation for this album I think we collectively decided to take more chances. Since we all are differently influenced it was nice to blend styles and come up with something that’s representational of us now and where we want to go as a band. The noticeable differences come in the form of more programmed drums, synths, more vocal harmonies and tonal stacking.”
