This past Tuesday, May 10, Fuel TV premiered “Storm Surfers,” a thrilling documentary following two Aussie legends of big-wave surfing, Ross Clarke-Jones and two-time ASP World Tour champion Tom Carroll. The documentary captures ultimate risk-takers Clark-Jones and Carroll as they risk their lives to hunt the biggest waves in Australia. The premise: If you knew a big storm was coming, would you run or try to ride it?
Well, according to Clark-Jones and Caroll, ride it, of course! They team up with leading surf forecaster Ben Matson to track and then chase the largest storms in the Southern Ocean so they can surf them. Their ultimate mission: to surf a legendary, never-before ridden wave in the treacherous seas of Bass Strait known as Dangerous Banks, reputed as the ‘Everest’ of big wave surfing.
Viewers can watch as these daredevils travel all over Australia, and get a sneak peek into the ins and outs and a behind-the-scenes look at big wave surfing. It’s definitely a crazy adventure that leaves us at the edge of our seats.
“Storm Surfers” combines action and science using the latest innovations in HD technology, advanced computer graphics and sound so that viewers will feel like they’re right there with Clark-Jones and Caroll in the thick of the action. It’s quite an exciting adventure that will take these legendary surfers all around the globe in search of the next big wave.
