Have you checked out the Becker site lately? We’ve got a bunch of cool kicks that will provoke you to go walking, including Sanuk, Element, and DVS, just to name a few. One of our featured brands, OluKai, has a killer selection including trainers, lace-ups and slip-ons… whichever style suits you best.
What is OluKai? The spirit of the brand is embraced by the combination of two Hawaiian words: Olu which means comfort, and Kai which means ocean. Their brand symbol is the Makau, or bone hook, which is the traditional Polynesian symbol worn for strength, good luck, and safe passage over water.
And on May 14th – 15th, OluKai will be sponsoring their annual Ho’olaule’a – which literally means “celebration,” but it’s also an expression of gratitude to the community, a tribute to the Polynesian culture, and its culture, energy and spirit. Held at the Kahana Beach Park on Maui’s north shore, the event will blend elite competition with family-friendly cultural activities. Some of the world’s best SUP and OC1 paddlers will race the legendary 8-mile “THE MALIKO DOWNWIND RUN.” There will be canoe sailing, surfing, ancient Hawaiian games, traditional luau, hula and live music.
