2013 Newport Beach Film Festival Now Open for Submissions

Celebrating its 14th year, the Newport Beach Film Festival is now open for submissions for 2013. Festival organizers are calling all possible directors to submit their action sport film now to save and receive a discount when submitted through Withoutabox.

Named one of the “25 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee” by Movie Maker Magazine, the Newport Beach Film Festival, held each year in Newport Beach, California, spotlights films from around the world including features, shorts, documentaries, and animations. The 2012 festival featured 460 different films, and the festival draws more than 30,000 attendees annually.

Since its establishment in 1999, the festival has presented many acclaimed films, including Crash (in its 2005 premiere), Dogtown and Z-Boys, Dust to Glory, Jewtopia (in its 2012 premier), Just Like the Son, and Spellbound, as well as anniversary screenings of classics such as The French Connection, Sunset Boulevard, and The Outsiders, and the 50th anniversary of the Jim Henson Company.

The festival also sponsors a Community Outreach Program through which they partner with over 30 non-profit organizations in Orange County from various sectors including the arts, health and human services, the environment, education, children’s causes and alumni clubs. The Community Outreach Program was created with the idea that film offers new perspectives and possibilities for a changing world. Each organization is paired with a film that is likely to attract an audience interested in its cause.

Next year’s festival will run from April 25th to May 2nd, 2013. Festival information, events, and schedule are available on their website at www.newportbeachfilmfest.com.
